I Shall Prevail!

'The Assignment', a story I planned to finish editing months ago, is now another chapter closer to finishing. This afternoon I completed the rewrite of Chapter 20, leaving me with only five more chapters to go through. All up it is roughly 15,000 words till the words 'The End', but it's closer than it was 70k words ago. Phew. I had planned to be finished back in January but work got in the way and then I lost the plot.

I lost a bit more of the plot by dipping into depression these past two weeks, thinking that I'll never be a good writer and not seeing the point of editing or writing if I'm never going to get anywhere with it. I'm still in this spot, but I think one of the reasons I fell into this hole is because I'm just rewriting old stuff which is slow and boring. The rewriting is slow and boring. The story may be too, I don't know, no one has ever commented on it to tell me their thoughts. So, as therapy to help myself from going insane from the severe slow and boring time of editing, I have started a new piece.

It is a short story set as a sequel to 'Taking Back the Outpost' and a prequel to 'The Assignment', featuring Captain Von Delgo in his early years. If you've never read either of the stories above you will have no idea who he is, but he's a cool guy.
If you want to read about him, here you go: http://www.wattpad.com/story/15475983-the-assignment

Among other things, yesterday I set out a bit more of a plot I have been working on for a Dastardious Hollow prequel. I have even come up with a title for it which definitely means this story is going to happen.

I'm excited for both of these stories as they hold two of my favourite characters and will allow me to delve deeper into who they are and how they came to be the people they are today. Hopefully fun days ahead.

One last piece of news, despite the fact that it will probably drive me insane, I have begun another edit on another of my earlier stories. Which, after my news above, isn't a good thing. However, this edit should be easier as all I will be doing is touching up the repulsive grammar that I had when I was 14. It's also only a short story so it shouldn't take too long. In a week I edited 6 chapters so, with luck, it won't take long.
The reason for editing is that I think it's a good story and I want people to read it. It used to be up on Wattpad for a couple of years but then either last year or the year before I took it down because it was unedited and I couldn't stand the thought of people reading something that was revolting.
