Latest update

So today is the 2nd of December. A great many people are thinking about Christmas and all the things that thinking about Christmas brings, such as putting up the tree, putting the decorations on the tree, setting up that tinsel, the lights, the fake snow, arranging to go out shopping, wrapping of presents. And well, you know the rest.

For me, I'm not thinking about Christmas, I have other things in mind. Mainly this, last month was NaNoWriMo and I wrote just over 72k. This was a good effort, I'm happy with it. Now what happens is I have an almost finished book with an ending I can't touch until I've edited and re-written the beginning part of my book.

So I've sort of started on this, I've given the first two chapters a quick edit and I'll go through the book and give the whole thing a quick edit before going through it again and giving it a deeper edit. I have another 6 months to do this in but I made it last year so I should be able to do it this year. Of course the difference being is that this year my book is a lot longer and it's not even finished yet. Oh well, it ought to be fun.

In other news, yesterday afternoon I got back from a youth camp I attended down in New South Wales at a place called Lennox Head. It's near the beach. It was really fun even though it rained all Friday night and the whole morning of Saturday so we couldn't go down to the beach like we had planned, but that was all right. We had fun. It was nice to relax and not think about my book. Of course now that I'm home my book is all I can think about  I had better get back to it.

Can you believe it?

Yes, can you believe it, I actually lost this blog. I completely forgot that I had even started it or even had it for that matter! But now that I've found it I'm going to make sure that I update it as often as I can and bring this to life.

So, first things first, an update. My last blog post I see I said that I was busy editing, well, I've finished editing. I finished in late July and published my novel The Story of Silence a week later. You can find it on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Story-Silence-Peter-Van-Werkhoven/dp/1481926616/ref=la_B00DOM8UZS_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1381812620&sr=1-1
And Createspace: https://www.createspace.com/4096745
And as soon as I work out how to format it correctly it will be up on Smashwords.

No, what else? Oh yes, in a little over two weeks it will be November which means for quite a lot of writers all over the world, NaNoWriMo. I will be entering that again this year and writing a new novel which could sort of be classed as a sequel to last year's, the story above. I won't tell you exactly what it's about due to it maybe containing spoilers for The Story of Silence. I can tell you the name of it though, it's called Lights and Shadows. It'll be a mystery like the other one.

Besides publishing and planning for my next novel I don't think there is any other big news to tell. So until further notice, goodbye!

Book Research.

I've written a book and I've been hard at it editing lately, (Hahaahaaha, don't makes me laugh, hard at it?! Pft! Yeah right) and it's going pretty well I think. And I've been having to do some research for it to make it more lifelike, more modern and real, that sort of stuff.

So far I have looked up heroin. Looked to see if there was Internet in the 90s and what sites there were to use. What you had to do to get a passport and board a plane in the late 80s. And now I'm trying to find out what cars were driven in America in 2006.

I have to look those things up because I don't know. And I'm looking up to see what cars there are, and I type in 'cars 2006' and all these post come up about the movie Cars. That movie came out in 2006 and I actually remember it coming out in cinemas! Which is really weird because I've never thought about the movie before and when it came out and now seeing it pop up when I'm researching it has brought back a lot of memories. It's really weird. But I just thought that I should let you know. That's it basically. Talk to you later!
